“Mongolian Yurts | Gers” is a program of FIRE – Flagstaff International Relief Effort, a non-profit organization based in Flagstaff, AZ, and Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. FIRE has been importing Mongolian yurts/gers to the US from the same company in Ulaanbaatar since 2005. All proceeds support FIRE’s programming in Mongolia.
Meredith at FIRE wanted to separate their yurt website from their main site. She envisioned using an ecommerce engine to allow yurt configuration and pricing, while handling ordering and shipping details one-on-one, by phone. INDIGO8 built this system in WooCommerce. While there are only four products, there are so many options that each product generates thousands of variables. We performed comprehensive tests using two plugins, identifying the right solution for easy product configurations and modifications. WooCommerce was customized to allow completed transactions without payments or shipping. The logo, design, font choices were provided by FIRE staff.
